CCW Incident National Database
The CCW Incident National Database (CCWIND) was created to document events involving CCW permit holders on a nationwide basis. We document both positive and negative outcomes based on credible news sources. The database is free to use (registration required) and you are encouraged to contribute incidents to the database. Incident submissions are reviewed for accuracy and if approved by our database administrators approved for publication and included in our aggregate CCW statistics pages.
Our Mission
We believe that the proverbial Good Guy with a Gun does exist. We strive to make CCWIND is the best source for current CCW incident data. Through the collection, aggregation and publication of this data we believe the truth about responsible ownership and use will be self evident. To that end please help us by submitting CCW incidents from credible sources so we can properly tell the story of responsible CCW permit holders.
A Message from our Founder
Hi, my name is Chris. I'm a CCW permit holder in my 5th year of carrying. Over those 5 years I have carried daily and have spent numerous hours training and preparing for the day I may have to defend myself or my family. I do not take the responsibility of a CCW permit lightly. As part of my training I believe in learning from others.
I created CCWIND for three reasons. First and foremost, reading about situations in which CCW permit holders drew their firearms helps me in understanding situational awareness. I hope it helps you too. Secondly, I could not find a credible online source of both positive and negative CCW incident data and information that was well organized, easily accessible and searchable. So I hope you find CCWIND well organized and easily accessible for whatever purpose you need it for. Lastly, my hope is that by aggregating this data the truth about responsible gun ownership and use will be self evident.
